The Funders Network (TFN)

TFN is a network of over 170 funders with a vision for expanding funding and philanthropic leadership that yields environmentally sustainable, socially equitable, and economically prosperous regions and communities. In 2013, the nonprofit hub that coordinates and supports the network decided to adopt a more deliberate approach to network organizing. Network Impact worked with TFN board and staff to develop and support network practices that are grounded in an understanding of the value that the network currently generates for members while expanding opportunities for peer collaboration and exchange.

Our follow-on support for the TFN hub included facilitation of a learning community intended to deepen staff’s understanding of network management practices. Staff used this opportunity to brainstorm strategies to address emerging network challenges and opportunities within and across TFN funder collaboratives.

Network Impact currently supports TFN’s PPREP initiative (Philanthropic Preparedness, Resiliency and Emergency Partnership) that engages community foundations across the upper Midwest in cross-sector partnerships to promote community resiliency.
